Community School of the
Arts is committed to enrolling students from diverse economic, religious,
ethnic, racial, and social backgrounds. As part our commitment to equal
access to high-quality arts education, CSA offers financial assistance for
families who would otherwise be unable to afford high-quality arts
education.
About Financial
Aid at Community School of the Arts:
-
Financial Aid is
entirely need-based; award decisions are based on a family’s financial
need and the school’s ability to support a percentage of that need.
-
Financial aid funds
are limited and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
-
Families must
reapply each fall.
-
Financial Aid awards
are applied as a percentage reduction of the total tuition charges, with
a limit of one program per student, and do not require repayment.
-
Students receiving
financial assistance are not eligible for additional discounts.
-
Financial Aid may be
decreased or terminated if a student demonstrates unacceptable progress.
-
Families with an
unpaid balance by July 31 will forfeit any financial grant which might
be made for the following year, unless payment arrangements are made.
Financial Aid
Application Process:
To apply for financial assistance, families must supply:
1) Completed Financial Aid
application
2) Recent pay stub
3) Photocopy of last year’s Federal Tax Return OR official letter of proof
from coordinating agency for welfare, social security, unemployment, child
support, maintenance and/or alimony compensation
Additionally, Community School will consider:
• official documentation of changes or extenuating circumstances that have
changed the financial status of the applicant subsequent to filing of tax
return
• letters indicating extenuating circumstances not documented elsewhere
which may support an applicant’s claim to assistance (i.e. special needs)
4) $20.00 per child application processing fee (this is a one-time fee per family)
Applications will not be considered complete for review until all materials
have been supplied.
