Community School of the Arts provides financial assistance to students based on
household size, family income, and the availability of funds. Funding varies by semester,
and families re-apply for financial assistance annually.

Financial Aid Application Deadline:
      

       Fall 2010            Private music and group class students:        July 8, 2010
                                The financial aid process for Fall 2010 is now closed.
       Spring 2011       Private music and group class students:         Deadline TBD

  • Financial aid funds are limited and are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Families must reapply each summer for the upcoming academic year.
  • Financial Aid awards are applied as a percentage reduction of the total tuition charges, with a limit of one program per student.
  • Awards offset between 10% and 90% of tuition and do not require future repayment.
  • Financial Aid may be decreased or terminated if a student demonstrates a low level of commitment to their lessons or classes.
  • Families with an unpaid balance at the end of any semester automatically forfeit any financial aid for the following semester.
Financial Aid Application Process:
To apply for financial assistance, families must supply:

1) Completed Financial Aid application.

2) Photocopy of last year’s Federal Tax Return OR official letter of proof from coordinating agency for welfare, social security, unemployment, child support, maintenance and/or alimony compensation.3) Most recent pay stub. Additionally, Community School of the Arts will consider:
           • official documentation of changes or extenuating circumstances that have changed
                the financial status of the applicant subsequent to filing of tax return;
          • letters indicating extenuating circumstances not documented elsewhere which may 
                support an applicant’s claim to assistance (i.e. special needs).

Applications will not be considered complete for review until all materials have been supplied.
