NC Arts Council Awards $30,000 Grant to CSA

SEPTEMBER 8, 2009:  Community School of the Arts today received a
$30,000 operating grant from the North Carolina Arts Council.

The North Carolina Arts Council's grant for the 2009/2010 school year
is equal to the Council's 2008/2009 grant to the School.  Said CSA
Executive Director Andi Stevenson, "We are delighted and deeply grateful
to have the Council's undiminished support again this year.  This State support
is vitally important to our dual mission of excellence and accessibility."

Funds from the North Carolina Arts Council grant will support need-based student
financial aid, merit scholarships, free outreach programs and the School's day-to-day
operations.

The North Carolina Arts Council serves as the official steward of state and federal
funds appropriated for the arts.  The Council promotes excellence in artistic expression,
supports exemplary artists and organizations across the state, places artists in the
classroom to enhance learning, and expands the range of opportunities for North Carolina
residents to experience the arts.  For more information, please visit www.ncarts.org.
