New Art Classes Added in Ballantyne

JANUARY 21, 2010:   Community School of the Arts today announced new
children's art classes at its Ballantyne studio location.

In addition to numerous classes at its Spirit Square headquarters, the School
is teaching two children's art classes at the 521 Rec Center in Ballantyne 
this spring.  Enrollment is now open, so register soon for these new classes:

Art Exploration I (ages 4 to 8)

An introductory course for young students, this class offers children the
opportunity to study drawing, painting, collage, sculpture and mixed media.  Children
will learn the fundamental elements of art, including line, shape, color and pattern, while
giving students confidence, basic skills and inspiration to continue with future art studies

FEE:         $140 for eight hour-long classes, including all materials.
WHERE:   The 521 Recreation Center, taught by Shelley Reed-Walla
WHEN:     Thursdays 4:00-5:00PM

Fundamentals of Drawing I (ages 7 to 10)

The perfect course for students wishing to learn strong fundamental drawing
techniques.  Students will use a wide range of materials and will learn how
to show space, texture, form and proportion.  This class also teaches
introductory elements of art history to expand students' understanding of the
visual arts.

FEE:         $140 for eight hour-long classes, including all materials.
WHERE:   The 521 Recreation Center, taught by Shelley Reed-Wallace.
WHEN:     Thursdays 5:00-6:00PM
