PAL For Preschool Classes……

The Preschool Arts Lab is the School’s signature early arts program, offering creative
literature-based art classes at its Spirit Square location.

Over the course of the nine-month program, an entire preschool class spends one hour
each month in the lab, participating in arts activities that center on a new book each visit.

Art activities include painting, collage, printmaking and weaving. Students experience
a wide variety of media specifically chosen to stimulate their young minds and
encourage them to express themselves through art.

Preschool teachers receive one Contact Credit Hour (1CHC) from the North Carolina
Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Child Development, for each
lab session attended.

The School’s renowned Preschool Arts Lab opened to the public in February 2009 and immediately
sold out all available classes.  Children attending these one-hour classes enjoy hearing a
different children’s book each month, followed by hands-on, age-appropriate art activities
that bring the book alive. Painting, collage, printmaking and weaving stimulate creative
thinking and self expression. Give your child the gift of a monthly art lab this spring.

FEE:         $35 for four hour-long classes. Tuition includes all materials.

WHERE:   The Preschool Arts Lab, second floor, Spirit Square, Uptown Charlotte.
                     Children must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

WHEN:    10:45 AM to 11:45 AM
                  Sessions are available on two different days of the week, with identical curricula:

                          Session 1:    Thursdays:   Feb. 4, Mar. 4, April 1, May 6.
