description
classPageRule

In this CSA ensemble, students will learn about one of America's most important cultural assets.  Students will perform music composed by some of the greatest American jazz musicians of the 20th and 21st Centuries, such as Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, and Charles Mingus.  Students will have the opportunity to play written music and learn to improvise with confidence.  Teamwork and group skills will also benefit students, as each individual is responsible for creating a performance that is exciting, challenging and fun.  Students should have two years playing experience and be able to read music notation.  Taught by Dr. Matthew Postle.
