CSA Faculty Recital: Alan Black, cello
JANUARY 12, 2012: Join Community School of the Arts for a free recital by CSA cello instructor Alan Black: Tuesday, February 28th at 7:30 PM in the McGlohon Theatre in Spirit Square. The event is part of CSA's Spring 2012 Recital Series, sponsored by Carolinas HealthCare System.
Alan Black has taught at Community School of the Arts since 2003 and is in his twenty-fourth season as principal cellist with the Charlotte Symphony. His performance experience covers the complete spectrum of music; from classical music including chamber music, solo recitals, and concertos with the Charlotte Symphony, to appearing on stage as a soloist and chamber musician with artists such as Yo-Yo Ma, Lynn Harrell, Bobby McFerrin, Van Cliburn Gold Medal pianist Jon Nakamatsu, and fiddler Mark O'Connor. He has performed all over the Southeast, including chamber music concerts at famed Spivey Hall near Atlanta, the Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, South Carolina, and the Eastern Music Festival in Greensboro, North Carolina.
