August 28, 2012: Community School of the Arts, Tosco Music Party and Children’s Home Society announce the Tim Lemmond Legacy Concert on Sunday, October 7th at 7:00 PM in the McGlohon Theatre at Spirit Square.
The Legacy Concert will honor the memory of musician and psychologist Tim Lemmond through performances of Tim’s original music by outstanding local musicians. John Tosco of the Tosco Music Party is serving as music director for the concert, which will feature well-known Charlotte music veterans, new voices and talented Community School of the Arts students.
The Legacy Concert is also the inaugural fundraising event to establish the Tim Lemmond Music Scholarship Fund at Community School of the Arts. The Lemmond Fund will make free, high-quality music lessons available to children served by the Children’s Home Society, a nonprofit agency providing support to biological, foster and adoptive families. In his professional life as a psychologist, Tim felt privileged to work with these children as they navigated the foster care and adoption systems, and his family has generously established this scholarship to bring the joy of music lessons to the children he loved helping.
In his musical life, Tim experienced the profound sense of connection and healing that music can bring to us all. This concert combines those life strands into a living legacy and a lasting benefit for Charlotte’s children.
General admission tickets are $15 each and are on sale now at www.carolinatix.com.
If you cannot attend the concert but would still like to give to the cause, please donate online at www.csarts.org/support-csa and mention the Tim Lemmond Legacy Concert in the comment section.
