orchestra in schools

The original orchestra outreach program for low-income Charlotte students, the Orchestra In Schools program brings free group violin instruction and free violins to 60 students in three low-income CMS elementary schools. Students receive two hours of professional instruction each week and perform at OIS concerts in December and May, in addition to numerous school assemblies and special events.

The Wachovia/Wells Fargo Foundation has generously underwritten the OIS program since its inception.
