description
classPageRule

Do you like to sing around the house, in the car, entertaining your friends?  Do you want to audition for your school musical?  You will learn how the voice works, how to sing with expression, and good musicianship in a fun, encouraging environment in Voice Class.  Vocal technique (breath control, diction, intonation, posture) and vocal styles are learned through exercises and songs.  The class also includes a brief introduction of fundamental musical skills (reading music notation, sight reading) and focuses on stage presence in performance and building confidence.  For those interested, a brief overview of making a 16-bar cut for auditions will be given.  Individual attention is given to each student, and students will be ready to perform their learned songs the last week of class.  Taught by Julie Martin Dean.
