Introduction to Printmaking for Adults

description

Starting with simple stamping and monotypes, this class offers a broad survey of basic techniques in printmaking. With only a rolling pin and a wooden spoon, learn to make rich layered abstract images on paper. Try carving a linoleum block for a relief print gift card or making your own collagraph plate from cardboard, glue, and found materials. Using colorful water-based inks and other non-toxic materials, we will take an open, experimental approach to the art of the print, with a focus on studio fun and the joy of happy accidents!

This class pairs well with Open Studio for Adults, taking place in sessions 1 and 2, or Collage and Mixed Media, a session 1 class.
